Full Service:

This is the foundation of any full service. It includes:

  • Engine Oil and Filter: Draining old, contaminated oil and replacing it with new oil and a new oil filter to ensure proper lubrication.

  • Air Filter: Replacing the engine's air filter to maintain a clean air supply, which is vital for combustion and fuel efficiency.

  • Fuel Filter: Changing the fuel filter to prevent contaminants from reaching the fuel injectors and engine.

  • Fluid Top-Ups: Checking and topping up other essential fluids, such as coolant, power steering fluid, and brake fluid.

Ignition and Fuel System Checks

These parts are crucial for starting the car and for engine performance.

  • Spark Plugs: Inspecting or replacing spark plugs to ensure a strong spark for proper combustion.

  • Fuel Injectors: Checking for clogs or leaks that could affect fuel delivery and engine performance.

  • Belts and Hoses: Inspecting all drive belts (like the fan or serpentine belt) and hoses for signs of wear, cracks, or leaks to prevent sudden breakdowns.

Diagnostics and Inspection

A full engine service also involves a detailed check of the engine's overall health.

  • Diagnostic Scan: Connecting the car to a computer to check for any stored fault codes that may indicate underlying issues.

  • Visual Inspection: A mechanic will physically inspect the engine for any leaks, rust, corrosion, or damaged components.

  • Timing Belt/Chain: Inspecting the condition of the timing belt or chain, a critical component that may require replacement at specific mileage intervals.

A full engine service is a proactive way to maintain your vehicle's engine, helping you avoid more costly repairs down the line.
